I have always been interested in using my hands to create unique one-of-a-kind arts and crafts. I love making beautiful functional objects. Making unique works of art that bring pleasure and joy to others gives me great pleasure. In 1994 I started my career as a jeweler designing items to be sold both here and abroad. In 1997, I added lampworking and fusing to my knowledge. Since then I have been working as a bead and jewelry artist always perfecting my designs and skills. I read, watch videos, go to glass conferences and take classes--whatever I can do to develop into an even better artist.My professional memberships include the Glass Art Society, Northern California Bead Society and the Bead Society of Los Angeles. I have shown in an exhibition of the California Glass Exchange and have been published in Lapidary Journal, Common Ground, and This Side Up. I am a vendor at bead shows. I am represented by various galleries and I sell at juried art and wine festivals, such as the Contemporary Craft Market and Tapestry of Talent.
I love working with glass. The fluidity, the movement of colors, the transparency--all fascinate me. I am intrigued by the process of taking cold hard glass rods, heating them to a fluid state with a propane-oxygen torch, winding this molten glass around a stainless steel mandrel, adding intricate details and then watching it all harden before putting the bead into the kiln to anneal.
Classes are available in lampworking, fusing and jewelry making at my studio in Selma, CA about fifteen miles south of Fresno in the Central Valley of California.
