Alagar Group of companies, is one of the oldest and most reputed firms of Tuticorin. This group traces its foundation way back to 1930 when the first firm, "V.S. Alagirisamy Chettiar & Brothers" was started. This firm dealt with gold jewellery, ethnic jewellery, silver and diamond jewellery, pearls, precious gems and jewels. They were manufacturers, exporters and traders in the above items.
Having established a brand name and good reputation for quality, dependability and trust, another firm was floated in the year 1962 Alagar Jewellery Mart, an exclusive gold jewellery, ethnic jewellery, silver jewellery and related gift articles showroom. This again was instrumental in enabling the promoters to concentrate separately on gold and silver articles with decentralized management systems.
With the competition on the rise and a number of players getting into the market, with a view to ensure and establish its number one position, the group floated a new and state of art showroom, Alagar Jewellers in the year 1994. With this new showroom, the status of Alagar Group in Jewellery became unperturbed and the jewellery turnover rose to new heights.
All the divisions of the Alagar Group are backed by fully computerized support systems. All the offices are centrally air-conditioned. The group companies are ably backed by professionals of various faculties to ensure that what ever is done is done according to standards and specifications.
