River Gold Mines Ltd. was created in 1994 to consolidate ownership of the Eagle River property. To date it has produced in excess of 700,000 ounces of gold from three mining projects located near Wawa, Ontario.
Despite weak gold markets in the period 1997-2001, River Gold persevered and acquired known gold deposits to provide for future expansion in the Wawa Gold Camp. Going forward it is River Gold's goal to deliver growth and performance to shareholders through optimization of current assets and careful acquisition of further projects.
River Gold is 100% unhedged and has never hedged. Our strengths are quality gold deposits and an experienced, efficient operating team. River Gold is a low-overhead, no-nonsense, owner-operated company working for its shareholders.
Improving gold markets will enable the Company to execute its vision of regional development centred on the flagship Eagle River Mine. Once assets in the Wawa Camp are optimized the company plans to replicate this successful strategy elsewhere.
River Gold Mines Ltd. trades on the TSX Exchange under the symbol "RIV" and has 43.0 million shares outstanding.
